Here are some of my past experiences... I started playing classical piano when I was 9 and singing in school choirs when I Was 10. I knew I loved music from when I was 3 where I used to sit myself in front of a mirror and sing to myself ad pretend there were 10000 people listening to me. I would sing them all an entire concert. :-)
I started getting a little more serious when I hit 22. That was when I played for my first old age home and hospital and realized that it didn't matter who I played music for, I just loved playing and that was all that mattered. Ya, I tried to compete for a couple of singing contests when I was 25, but I hadn't taken any voice lessons yet, and knew that if I really wanted to start a career and get ahead, I had to start those lessons. Once I turned 26, I got this fantastic opera teacher and I'm still working with her today (The recordings posted on this site are after 5 months of lessons). Now being 27, I play at over 25 older age groups, day centers, hospitals, organizations and associations in Montreal, Canada. I've also sung backup for a couple of my friend's upcoming debut albums and I'm a piano teacher. Even though I absolutely love what I do, I will be in a few upcoming plays ( a couple of large productions) within the city and hope to broaden my horizons a bit and who knows... maybe one day fullfill that dream of singing for THOUSANDS of people ;-)
Ya... Broadway would be nice... wouldn't it? ;-)
Hmm.. let's see.. what else... I've got a decent 4 octave vocal range... I record books for the blind... Do some voice acting as well... love that too... Oh yes, and I sing in English, French, Hebrew, Yiddish, German and Spanish. Trying to get a little Russian in there soon as well!
